Pakistan World Cup 2023 Matches Details
The World Cup will utilize 10 venues, with the Men in Green scheduled to play their league games in five of them. The highly anticipated India vs Pakistan match is set to take place in Ahmedabad on October 15. Despite the Men in Green requesting a change of venue for this crucial game, both the BCCI and the ICC dismissed their request. It is highly probable that the Men in Green will encounter their arch-rivals on five separate occasions, including a potential encounter in the semi-finals or the final of the World Cup.
The round-robin format will be implemented in the World Cup, where all teams will compete against each other once during the league stage. At the conclusion of the round-robin stage, the top four teams will secure qualification for the semi-finals. The Men in Green achieved victory in the World Cup solely in 1992. Since then, they have only reached the final once in 1999, where they lost to Australia. In the 50-over World Cup, the Men in Green have yet to secure another appearance in the final. In the T20 World Cup, they faced defeat against Australia in the 2021 final and were also defeated by England in the 2022 final.
Spanning across 46 days, the World Cup will be hosted across 10 venues in India, including Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamsala, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Pune. This marks the first time that India has unanimously hosted a World Cup event. Previously, in 1987, 1996, and 2011, India co-hosted the tournament with the Men in Green, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.
