List of Injured Players at the 2023 CWC: The International Cricket Council (ICC) will organize the 13th edition of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in 2023. This quadrennial One Day International (ODI) cricket tournament, featuring men’s national teams, is scheduled to take place in India from October 5th to November 19th, 2023.

A total of ten teams, including the defending champions from 2019, England, will participate in this tournament. It marks the first time that India will host the men’s Cricket World Cup as the sole host country. Previously, India had co-hosted the event with other countries on the Indian subcontinent in 1987, 1996, and 2011.

Less than three weeks remain until the 2023 World Cup, but a slew of last-minute injuries to crucial players threatens to disrupt the teams’ preparations. Here is the complete injury list for the ODI World Cup, including the players who will be absent from the tournament in India.

ICC ODI World Cup 2023 Injured Players

Friday, September 15, proved to be an unfortunate day for cricket players, as ongoing series presented a series of injury concerns. In South Africa, Travis Head, who was anticipated to be David Warner’s opening partner in the World Cup, fractured his left hand, joining the growing list of injury woes for the Australian team. Anrich Nortje’s back injury caused him to miss the fourth ODI, while Temba Bavuma suffered a hamstring issue and was also sidelined from the game.

In England, Tim Southee fractured his right thumb while attempting to take a catch in the 14th over of England’s innings, and Daryl Mitchell dislocated his finger during the same innings.

Meanwhile, during the Asia Cup, Axar Patel sustained multiple blows to both of his hands while batting, resulting in his exclusion from the final on Sunday, with Shardul Thakur taking his place. For Sri Lanka, Maheesh Theekshana suffered a hamstring injury, and Pakistan may potentially be without Naseem Shah for the upcoming World Cup.
