Chennai Super Kings signed New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell for a massive Rs. 14 crore in the IPL 2024 auction that took place in Dubai on Tuesday. Mitchell might fill in the gap left by England’s Ben Stokes, who was let go by CSK before this auction.

Mitchell played for Rajasthan Royals in 2022, featuring in two games after the franchise picked him for his base price of Rs. 75 lakh. The 32-year-old remained unsold in last year’s auction, where he had a base price of Rs. 1 crore. The middle-order batsman has an average of 24.86 for New Zealand in T20Is in 56 matches.
