Australia World Cup 2023 Matches Details

The World Cup will span 46 days and take place in 10 venues throughout India. In addition to Ahmedabad, the host cities include Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamsala, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Pune. Each venue, except for the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, will host five games, with the exception being that the stadium will host three matches, two of which involve Pakistan.

During the round-robin stage, all 10 teams will compete against each other once, followed by the knockout phase. Each victory will earn the winning team two points, while a no-result will result in both teams receiving one point. This format mirrors the one used in the 2019 World Cup held in England and Wales.

Australia has been placed in a challenging group alongside teams such as India, Pakistan, and South Africa. Pat Cummins will lead the Australian team, who recently clinched the ICC World Test Championship title against India, adding yet another ICC trophy to their collection.

The Aussies have an impressive record, having won five World Cup titles, with their most recent victory occurring in 2015. Under the leadership of former legendary captain Ricky Ponting, they secured a hat-trick of World Cup titles between 1999 and 2007. Their first World Cup triumph came in 1987.

Following their match against India on October 8, the Australian team will face off against England, New Zealand, Pakistan, and South Africa, competing in a total of nine league games. Here is the complete schedule of the Australia World Cup 2023 campaign.
