Australia Announces T20I and ODI Squads for September UK Tour
Australia has picked Jake Fraser-McGurk for the T20I squad for the series against Scotland and England. Pat Cummins is rested for the white-ball tour to prepare for the Border-Gavaskar Test series starting in November.
Mitchell Marsh will lead the white-ball teams, despite the T20 World Cup disappointment. Western Australian all-rounder Cooper Connolly, 20, is included in the T20I squad for his impressive performance as a finisher over the last two seasons. Matthew Wade and Ashton Agar, who played in the T20 World Cup, are left out for the T20I series against Scotland and England.
Australia’s UK Tour Schedule
- Scotland T20I Series: Australia will play three T20Is against Scotland from September 4 to 7.
- England T20I Series: Three T20Is against England from September 11 to 15.
- England ODI Series: Five ODIs against England from September 19 to 29.
David Warner has passed the baton to Jake Fraser-McGurk after retiring from white-ball cricket. Pace spearheads Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins are rested for the T20I series, while Steve Smith is not included. However, Starc, Cummins, Alex Carey, Marnus Labuschagne, and Sean Abbott will join the ODI squad after the T20I matches.
